Off with the old

I watched a monarch butterfly this week and as it flitted around the garden I couldn’t help but compare it with the fat caterpillars that gobbled up our swan plant.  This butterfly has been transformed, in a sense recreated from something earthbound to a creature that can fly. It reminded me that sometimes we need to let go of the old, in order to experience the new. The caterpillar will never fly, no matter how much it wishes it could, unless it allows itself to be renewed.  What transformation does your life need?  What needs to die within in order for new life to emerge?

As followers of Jesus we believe that Jesus can create that transformation within us, renewing us, recreating us to be the people God always meant us to be, people who reflect the image of God.  Sure we don’t always get it right but sometimes there is a lot of change required, even in people we might think have it all together. You are welcome to join us on our journey.

If you need support during this time then please make contact with Andrew on 0223075225.

There is no physical service this week due to the growth of omicron in our community.

This Sunday we are thinking about the new life Jesus offers us. Colossians 2:20 - 3:17  Off with the Old.

Mainly Music -  Due to omicron we are offering sessions on a week by week basis at the moment. Please check with church to see if this is still on. If you would like to know more about what we are doing instead then please contact the church office (office@pb.org.nz or text 0223075225). Normally meets Wednesday’s from 10.00am. Note a vaccination pass will be required to attend. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern and support for those with young children.
