Be Patient, Be Kind

So we are now almost halfway through week three of the lockdown.  Hopefully the end is drawing near and we can move out of level four to level three. What is becoming clear though, is that life will not just go back to normal, at least not to the way it was pre-covid-19. Many of us will face uncertainty around employment, schooling and finances. This new normal is going to place continued strain on relationships and households. Our Prime-minister has reminded us again and again to be kind during this time, to be patient with each other. Jesus invites us to live like this, not just in times of crisis, but as a new way of life.  A religious leader once asked Jesus what was the most important commandment  - Jesus replied ‘Love God and love your neighbour as yourself’.  I wonder what our communities would look like if we lived by those two simple commands every day of our lives.
