Who do you trust?

Earlier this week the people of a particular country voted overwhelmingly to ditch their current leader and choose a new person. It seems that the people no longer trusted that the old leader was trustworthy. Later this year our country will once again get to vote for those we want to govern for the next three years. Who we will vote for is really a question of trust – do we trust this group of people to have our countries best interests at the centre of what they do. It’s not always an easy choice. Trust once broken is not easy to regain – sometimes it takes years before we trust again.

The Biblical story claims that God alone is totally trustworthy, that he keeps his promises to those who place their trust in him. The story of Jesus is the fulfilment of a promise God made to all people, a demonstration of his love and concern for all of us.

Many of us have experienced the trustworthiness of God. In the midst of difficult times, we have found God does care and look after us. I wonder who or what you have put your trust in? Is it trustworthy even when life is tough?
