Buyers' Remorse

This is the expression that covers the feeling we have when we regret a purchase or commitment we’ve made – often an expensive one. I always get it when I replace my car – Did I get a good deal? Did I pay too much? Is it mechanically sound? Why does it make that strange noise?

Sometimes we regret voting for the party we voted for at the election. If I’d known they were going to do that, I wouldn’t have voted for them.

It seems Jesus didn’t have a lot of time for people who suffered buyers’ remorse. A guy once asked if he could follow but then wanted to get some stuff sorted first.
But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plough and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”  Luke 9:62

In other words great if you want to come follow me but don’t keep wondering about what else you could have done. Make you choice, keep looking forward and don’t give up. No buyer’s remorse. This week find others who can walk with you as you seek to follow Jesus.

This Sunday @ 10 we will be thinking about what it means to follow Jesus from Luke 9.
