Advent Four - Love

This week we saw both hate and love displayed. The hate came in the form of two men who used their hate to gun down innocent children, women and men. It was a despicable act for which there is no justification. The love was shown by a shopkeeper, Ahmed al Ahmed, who tackled one of the gunmen and stopped him from firing at great risk to his own life. He was shot multiple times. People are calling him a hero. Jesus once said

This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. (John 5:2-13)

Ahmed al Ahmed demonstrated the power of those words. Imagine what our world would look like if we acted out of love for others rather than out of hatred.

Please note: Our posts will restart in late January. We hope you have a wonderful summer break.

It is also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.
