Today is Armistice day, where on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month an armistice was signed between opposing forces in WW1 in 1918. And we remember that day to remind ourselves of the ultimate sacrifice of the men and women who fought and died. We are also reminded of the futility of war. Back then it was hoped that that Great War would be the last war humanity would fight, so brutal and bloody it had been. Over 100 years on we know that such a thought was really just a pipedream and wars have continued all over the globe ever since. It seems that our lust for control, possessions and power are unquenchable. How quickly we turn to force when we can’t get our own way. Jesus offered us a different way, the way of peace, of forgiveness, of mercy and compassion. I wonder what I need to allow God to change within me so that I might be a peacemaker.

Mainly Music – Wednesdays from 10.00am during school terms. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It is also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.
Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
