Waiting

girl waiting

Waiting is hardly ever easy. Waiting for a baby to be born, waiting for that friend to arrive, even waiting to die. Sometimes waiting is a test of our faith – will the person do what they promised they will do? Or will they let us down? And when that someone is God – feeling let down can be pretty hard to take. God made some pretty big promises to Abraham, promises which took years to happen and which Abraham wondered would ever take place. Over years, decades, he waited for God to fulfil a promise and it just never seemed to happen. Eventually, Abraham decided to take matters into his own hands. The result was a mess for everyone. You can read the story in Genesis 15 and 16.

John Ortberg writes
Biblically waiting is not just something we have to do until we get what we want. Waiting is part of the process of becoming what God wants us to be.

I wonder what you are waiting for and I wonder what God wants you to learn from the waiting?

As it is the school holidays, there will be no children’s programme, however clip board activities will be available and a crèche for younger children.

To join with us on air, tune in to Coast Access Radio 104.7FM from 10.00am or livestream at http://coastaccessradio.org.nz...

Mainly Music – Wednesdays from 10.00am during school terms. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It is also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.

Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
