Salt and light

Over recent months I have been undergoing chemotherapy and one of the side-effects is a change in how my taste bud’s work. Salt had become very salty, so much so, that I now have to ask for it to be removed from cooking, which is pain for other members of my family. It’s a great reminder of how salt both flavours and preserves the foods we are eating.  Jesus talked about his followers been salt helping to bring the flavour of God and to help preserve the values of the kingdom of God but also light drawing others to Christ.

I wonder what it might mean for you to be salt and light in your community?

If you are struggling at this time and just need someone to talk to, then please email us at office@pb.org.nz or call 0223075225 and we will contact you.

This Sunday @ 10am we will be listening as Jesus speak to his disciples about being salt and light in the world in which they live. Matthew 5:13-16

It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.
