Encounters with God

Sometimes we struggle to see God’s love at work in the world around us. Especially in the face of war and suffering. But the biblical story reminds us that God is looking for ways to meet with those who are looking for him, and sometimes he does this in quite miraculous ways. In Acts 8 God sends a guy called Phillip all the way out into the desert just so he can meet an Ethiopian official in his chariot, who wants to learn more about Jesus. Rather than just been a chance encounter, God sets up a divine appointment, putting Philip just where he needs to be.

Of course, sometimes we miss those appointments, our lives become so busy that we miss the little nudges God is making towards us.

I wonder if perhaps God wants to meet with you. If so, make sure you don’t miss out.

If you are struggling at this time and just need someone to talk to, then please email us at office@pb.org.nz or call 0223075225 and we will contact you.

This Sunday @ 10am we will be hearing Christa McKirland speak about the story of Phillip in Acts 8.

A crèche for younger children is available.

Mainly Music – Wednesdays from 10.00am. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.

Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
