Have you forgiven me?

Forgiveness is a difficult thing. Sometimes even when we have been forgiven, we wonder if the other person really has forgiven us for what we did? There’s nothing worse than having someone remind us of our failures.

There's a story I once heard about a priest in the Philippines. A woman in his church told him she used to hear Jesus speak to her through visions.  The priest called her in to talk with her.  The priest was a bit sceptical about her claims so he said to her, “The next time you see Jesus, would you ask Him what sin I committed when I was young and then come and tell me His answer." She agreed.

Eventually the priest called the women in.  “Did you see Jesus again?” he asked.

“Yes,” she said

“Did you ask Him about my sin?"

"Yes,"

"What did He say?"

"He said, 'I've forgotten.'"

God forgives and forgets. Perhaps we could learn to do the same.

It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.
