Reconciliation

Reconciliation

We often talk about forgiveness as if it were an end in itself when it is one step on the road to reconciliation. A dictionary states: reconciliation is the renewal of friendship after disagreement or enmity. It is closely linked to the Jewish concept of shalom – when everything is in harmony. It is often messy and hard work.

Joseph shows us how we can work toward reconciliation with others, even those who wished us harm. And the story of Jesus is a reminder that he came to reconcile us to God.  Not just forgiveness but the restoration of a relationship between us.

In a world wracked by war, hate and anger may we be people who seek reconciliation, who are known as peacemakers.

If you are struggling at this time and just need someone to talk to, then please email us at office@pb.org.nz or call 0223075225 and we will contact you.

This Sunday @ 10am we will continue our series looking at the life of Joseph. Come and join us as we explore the life of this pivotal character from the Old Testament. This week we will be thinking about ‘The Joy of Reconciliation‘ as Joseph is reunited with his brothers.  Genesis 45

A children’s programme for children aged 3-8 is available during the service and a crèche for younger children.

To join with us on air tune in to Coast Access Radio 104.7FM from 10.00am or livestream at http://coastaccessradio.org.nz...

Mainly Music – Wednesday from 10.00am. Starts again this week. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.

Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
