What dreams do you have?

I wonder how many of you have watched the Football World Cup being held here in NZ. I suspect this world cup will be remembered by many as the cup where things didn’t go the way people expected. Teams who were easily expected to make the semi-finals or even the finals have been knocked out of the tournament. It’s quite emotional seeing the looks on the players faces when they realise their dream has now come to an end – much earlier than they expected.  I wonder if you have ever had your dreams tipped upside down and you are faced with the big questions – What now?  What do I do now that my dream is over?  How do I pick myself up? What is the future going to hold for me now?

Joseph was a character in the Bible who had some big dreams – you may have heard of them in Andrew Loyd Webber’s musical, ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’. Joseph’s dreams took a long time to come true and he faced lots of heartache and ‘what now?’ moments along the way.  Come and join us as we explore what made him the person he became.

If you are struggling at this time and just need someone to talk to, then please email us at office@pb.org.nz or call 0223075225 and we will contact you.

This Sunday @ 10am we will begin a new series looking at the life of Joseph, his dreams, his highs and his lows, and ultimately his faith in God. Some have called Joseph, the most Christian person in the Old Testament, and I wonder what we can learn from him as we study his life.

A children’s programme for children aged 3-8 is available during the service and a crèche for younger children.

To join with us on air tune in to Coast Access Radio 104.7FM from 10.00am or livestream at http://coastaccessradio.org.nz...

Mainly Music – Wednesday from 10.00am. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.

Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
