Weary

Have you ever set out on a tramp or hike and discovered part way through that you are just too tired to get to the end? Your body feels worn out and you can’t really go any further. Or maybe you are just feeling ground down by the pressures of life, paying the mortgage, feeding your family, loving your partner, and it all just feels too much. This worn-down, unable to go on, feeling is called weariness and it seems to dig down into our souls.

Emma Stokes our speaker this coming Sunday writes, ‘Where do we find strength when we are that weary? Isaiah 40:25-31 lifts our eyes to the breath-taking grandeur, the holiness and incomparability, of our wise and mighty God. It calls us to put our trust in God’s plans and purposes rather than our own. When we look to God in trusting expectation, we find both that God does new and unexpected things, and that we are energised and summoned forward by radical hope.’

This week amidst the pressures of life, why not take a moment to lift your eyes to the one who can walk with us in the midst of life.

If you are struggling at this time and just need someone to talk to, then please email us at office@pb.org.nz or call 0223075225 and we will contact you.

This Sunday @ 10am we will be hearing from one of our Carey Baptist College lecturers, Emma Stokes, as she explores the theme Hope for the Weary from Isaiah 40:25-31

A children’s programme for children aged 3-6 is available during the service and a crèche for younger children.

To join with us on air tune in to Coast Access Radio 104.7FM from 10.00am or livestream at http://coastaccessradio.org.nz...

Mainly Music – Wednesday from 10.00am. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.

Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
