Check that Facebook post.

This week one of our rugby referees has faced a torrent of abuse via Facebook for his actions refereeing the super rugby final. Refs will always have those who disagree with their decisions but why is it that so many feel free to use social media to denigrate and abuse those they disagree with. Sadly, the church and Christians have not been exempt from using social media in this way. When the early Christian leaders wrote these words, Don’t bite, devour, and consume one another (Gal 5:15), Don’t grumble among one another (Jn 6:43), Don’t complain against one another (Jas 4:11, 5:9), they weren’t thinking about Facebook, yet they certainly apply.

Maybe Paul or John might have written ‘When on Facebook remember to speak words that encourage and build up not words that destroy and tear down, treat one another with respect out of love for God.’

Go on check those Facebook posts – do they pass the test?

A children’s programme for children aged 3-6 is available during the service and also a crèche for younger children.

To join with us on air tune in to Coast Access Radio 104.7FM from 10.00am or livestream at http://coastaccessradio.org.nz...

Mainly Music – Wednesday from 10.00am. On this week but then in recess until Wednesday 19 July. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.

Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
