Last weekend many of you may have watched the coronation of King Charles III. During the news report on this, the news reader commented that this was the 40th crowning of a king or queen at Westminster Abbey in the last 1000 years. Which is pretty amazing.
But it occurred to me that every week all around the world, millions of people gather to celebrate another king and they have done it every week for the last 2000 years or so. Every Sunday followers of Jesus gather, sometimes just a handful in a room, sometimes thousands in huge auditoriums and they do so to declare that Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, is Lord of all. As Paul writes,
God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. (Eph 1:20-22)
And that is pretty awesome!
If you are struggling at this time and just need someone to talk to, then please email us at office@pb.org.nz or call 0223075225 and we will make contact with you.
This Sunday @ 10am we will be thinking about eating, specifically how Jesus used food and meals as a way of including others and making them feel welcome. A children’s programme for children aged 3-6 is available during the service and also a crèche for younger children.
To join with us on air tune in to Coast Access Radio 104.7FM from 10.00am or livestream at http://coastaccessradio.org.nz...
Mainly Music – Wednesday from 10.00am. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern and support for those with young children.
Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
