The Big Con?

Easter and the claims of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead are either the biggest con job in history or the greatest news the earth has ever heard. After all, we all know that dead people don’t come back to life.

Paul the Apostle knew this as well and he wrote these words, speaking about Jesus the Christ.

And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.

(1Co 15:14-19)

Paul was pretty convinced that Jesus was alive and that is what makes Jesus so unique. Jesus wasn’t just a good man, or a prophet, he was something else – God in the flesh.  If you would like to know more about him, check out this link.  Who is Jesus?

Mainly Music – Wednesday from 10.00am. Last time for this term. We will be giving our team a rest over the holidays and will restart on Wednesday 26 April. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern and support for those with young children.

Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
