Not what we expected

Have you ever purchased an item sight unseen and when it arrived it wasn’t at all what you were expecting? Maybe a bit like a guy in the U.S. who decided to buy an electric sports car on Alibaba from China. He was expecting a high-end sports car but instead when he opened the crate discovered that he had been sent a tiny little two-person electric car worth only a fraction of the price. He was very disappointed.

Sometimes we discover that people aren’t quite who we thought they were. Often, they turn out to be worse but sometimes we discover that they are much better than we could have guessed. This Sunday is Palm Sunday and many of Jesus followers were hoping that as he rode into Jerusalem, he would begin a revolution against the Romans. But he didn’t and I guess many were disappointed. But those who hung around, were to discover that Jesus was much more than just a revolutionary – he was much, much more than that. So, who was he really? Why not check it out for yourself.  Who is Jesus?

If you are struggling at this time and just need someone to talk to, then please email us at office@pb.org.nz or call 0223075225 and we will make contact with you.

This Sunday we conclude our Lenten series called ‘Another story must begin’ looking at the characters from the book and musical Les Misérables. What do they teach us about ourselves, others and God?  This week we reflect on the theme of hope as shown in the story by Victor Hugo. Sunday 10am. A children’s programme for children aged 3-5 is available during the service and also a crèche for younger children.

To join with us on air tune in to Coast Access Radio 104.7FM from 10.00am or livestream at http://coastaccessradio.org.nz...

Mainly Music – Wednesday from 10.00am. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern and support for those with young children.

Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
